Exercise and Rehabilitation
We would like to welcome Kathryn Welch, a sports therapist, to our team. She will be doing exercise rehabilitation and integrating sports massage.
You may decide to see Kathryn for core exercises or to be shown how to strengthen various regions of your body. Rehabilitation is also recommended once your alignment has been checked and corrected through chiropractic.
Kathryn Welch BSc (Hons) MSST
Kathryn graduated from the University of Chichester with a degree in Sports Therapy. Having been involved in sport from an early age Kathryn has always been intrigued by the physical demands of exercise and the effects it can have on the body. Having covered all aspects within the Sports Therapy degree Kathryn identified that both rehabilitation and sports massage were essential components in returning people back to full fitness. Working in the University clinic Kathryn gained much experience in exercise and rehabilitation; she has also voluntarily offered her services to a number of local running events in the New Forest providing pre and post event massage with satisfactory results.
“To be able to perform to your best ability it is important that your body is able to cope with the demands you put on it. By improving your core stability you are ensuring that your body can manage with these demands; in addition to this good core stability can prevent recurrence and treat various musculo-skeletal, neurological and postural conditions”.
“It gives me a great sense of fulfillment to see someone get back to their full fitness and potential. I love being able to help people get to where they want to be; my aim is not only to rehabilitate but also to give key exercises that, used regularly will reduce the risk of re-injury”.
In Kathryn's 1 hour rehabilitation sessions, she will be incorporating rehabilitation exercises and sports massage, which is similar to physiotherapy.
Kathryn is working at Liebling Chiropractic Care on Monday afternoons and Tuesday mornings.
