Broadstone Chiropractor Marcus Liebling
I wish I had known then what I know Now!
“I wish I had known then what I know now. I am so grateful that I was taken to a chiropractor as a child, but I wish I had been corrected at an even earlier age.”
'Marcus was an extremely irritable infant. He would cry and scream for hours, sometimes arching his back and neck and clenching his fists. Then during childhood Marcus suffered from severe headaches and neck pain. “I can still remember suffering with headaches and neck pain, I must have only been about seven years old. I would often be told off for constantly pushing on my head, trying to relieve my pain by myself!”
His father sought the advice and care of his own chiropractor, Dr Sidney Hudson-Cook, who explained that much of the damage to Marcus’ spine and head had been a result of his forceps delivery at birth. The chiropractic treatment was extremely effective, giving him continual relief. This left a lasting impression on Marcus inspiring him to pursue his studies.

You may in-fact recognise the Austrian surname (liebling = darling) if you know his father, Dr Peter Liebling, a retired local GP, now an honorary consultant dermatologist. From an early age Marcus showed a keen interest in his father's work and realised that he too wanted to work in a health profession.
Marcus was born in Poole and was educated locally at Castle Court School and Canford School, where he chose A-levels in science to give him a grounding of knowledge he would need for his chiropractic studies.
Marcus graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in Bournemouth in early 2005 after five years of training. The AECC is the oldest chiropractic college in Europe and is considered one of the best academic institutions for chiropractic. Marcus Liebling is now a part-time clinical tutor at the AECC.
Marcus Liebling' patients are pleased to see his return to the Broadstone area this year. In 2006, he left Broadstone in order to fine-tune his knowledge and skills (with his passions of both chiropractic and snowboarding), working in an Austrian ski-resort. In the past couple of years he has worked in busy chiropractic practices in southern Spain and north London. On returning to Broadstone he noticed that there was demand for a local, quality chiropractic service and hence ‘Liebling Chiropractic Care' began!

We asked Marcus Liebling about some of the fulfilling aspects of his practice. He explains, “I find it fascinating when a person apologises that they have come to see me with so many symptoms or problems and they feel that they are wasting my time. This couldn’t be further from the truth, as I learn so much about different ways the human body reacts when it becomes stressed. The number of symptoms is not really the issue, it is just a matter of locating the underlying cause (diagnosis), and treating it accordingly and then watching the body do the rest.”
Marcus Liebling has attended several post-graduate courses on chiropractic paediatrics, pregnancy, neurology, rehabilitation and on various technique systems in chiropractic. He is particularly interested in chiropractic care during pregnancy, as this not only assists the mother to be but will also give the new-born the best possible start in life. His work encompasses a strong emphasis on exercises and rehabilitation in order to prevent recurring injuries.
